We are very glad to be welcoming Rev.Dr. Caroline Wickens, who will be our minister for the next twelve months. Caroline is excited to be joining us at this time, when there is so much change going on here at Hope. These are her words for us at this time of upheaval:
"We’ve finally made it! After years of prayer, dreaming, fundraising, planning, and a lot more prayer,
we’re about to embark on the biggest adventure Hope has undertaken since the new church was
built nearly 30 years ago. The building is empty, the builders are at the ready and we’re all set to
share a home with the Independent Methodist Church for the next few months.
In all this, we owe a great deal to many people. There are brothers and sisters across Failsworth who
are accommodating our groups and activities. Whether or not they are Christian, they all share our
commitment to caring for one another. There are the people whose generosity underpins the grants
we have received. Their sacrificial giving makes our renewed mission possible. And there are our
own committed people, who are working so hard to make this happen.
I’m reminded of Paul’s words about the body of Christ. We belong together, each of us with our own
God-given talent, just as the different parts of the body belong together. When we all work together,
with Christ as our head, we can achieve amazing things through the power of God. So may God bless
us during these coming months of adventure in his name.
