We had a lovely afternoon to enjoy cake and each other's company on Saturday 3rd November. As well as continuing to raise funds for our refitting of the church, we also wanted to give back to one of the organisations that has helped us to run our community groups. Action Together has helped us fund our Gentle Exercise and Bowling sessions. They are a co-operative group who help communities improve their local areas and the lives of those who live there, with seed fund grants. We wanted to say thank you by giving back to that fund. We had a lovely afternoon together, with afternoon teas for sale and a cake competition. Our judges were so impressed with the cakes on offer and had a hard time splitting them apart. I doubt they were hungry for tea that night! We managed to raised £205.00 altogether, and will be soon be passing over the cheque to Action Together for their share of that.
